Step 1: Develop a Research Question
First, determine the question you seek to answer, situation you would like to describe, problem you would like information about, or story you would like to tell with your statistics.
For example, do you want to focus upon identifying the wards in which twenty or more new homes were built? Are you interested in exactly how much reinvestment in residential properties has occurred in a part of your neighborhood?
Your question will help you to decide on the two necessary components of statistical research: (1) the geographic area in which you are interested and (2) type of data needed.
