Central Catholic’s Lavender named to All-American team
(Plain Press, April 2007) The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced that Lantel Lavender, a senior at Cleveland Central Catholic High School, was selected to play in the 16th Annual WBCA High School All American Game, to be held in Cleveland Saturday, March 31.
The nine-person WBCA All American Selection Committee chose the top twenty high school senior girls’ basketball players in the nation to compete in the game. The players chosen will be divided into two teams of ten players and will face off in the WBCA’s High School All American Game at Cleveland State University’s Woodling Gym on March 31st at 4:30 p.m.
Lavender is the only Ohio student to be named to the All-American squad. Lavender has signed with Ohio State University, so Ohio basketball fans will be able to enjoy watching her play at the college level.
