CMDC Board sticks with Executive Director
by Chuck Hoven

(Plain Press, October 2006) At the August meeting of the Clark Metro Development Corporation (CMDC), Ward 14 Councilman Joe Santiago reportedly offered to restore funding to the organization if the Board of Trustees dismissed Executive Director Steve Kruger. Asked about any actions taken on this issue by the Board of Trustees in September, Clark Metro Development Corporation’s Board of Trustees President Randy Buchko announced there is “no change to Steve’s (Steve Kruger’s) status.”

On September 27 Buchko said the Board of Trustees would continue to meet over the next week to ten days to access their financial situation and review program expenses. Buchko says the City of Cleveland Community Development Department has offered technical support and has promised that once Clark Metro Development Corporation decides which programs they will pursue, “they will help us find funding.”

“Clark Metro Development Corporation is strong and viable. The staff and board will continue serving the neighborhood the best they can,” said Buchko of the current status of the organization.

Clark Metro Development Corporation’s staff is moving forward on an effort to develop a plan for the West 25th Street Corridor. A meeting is scheduled at MetroHealth on Saturday, October 14th. (See Community Board for details.)
