Rebecca Radaker

(Plain Press, September 2006) Rebecca Radaker, a columnist for the Plain Press in the early 1990s, passed away on July 28, 2006 at the age of 78. Radaker’s offered advise to preschool parents in her column, Becca’s Preschool Corner. The column answered questions from preschool parents on child care issues. Headlines of popular columns included: Have a safe summer; Johnny won’t come when he’s called; and How to talk to your preschooler about death.

 Radaker, a long-time Detroit Shoreway and Near West Side resident, was the wife of the late Robert John Radaker, devoted mother of Marcia Ann Collins, mother-in-law to Paul Collins, Sr., and grandmother to Paul G. Collins II.
