Storefront Renovation Program 2005 projects
(Plain Press, July 2006) At a May 18th ceremony at the English Oak Room in Tower City, the City of Cleveland provided awards to participants who have successfully completed a storefront renovation as part of the City of Cleveland Storefront Renovation Program. A number of renovations were completed in areas served by the Plain Press.
In the Cudell Improvement service area the following businesses people completed renovation of their storefronts in 2005:
Christine Hohlakis, Lorain Coin Laundry, 9119 Lorain Avenue
Margery & Mark Ross, the Ross Building, 9700 Lorain Avenue
Chris Riemenschneider and Rodger Riggs of Zum Properties, The Brothers Lounge, 11609 Detroit Avenue.
In the area served by Detroit Shoreway Community Development Corporation two renovations were completed:
The OCDS Limited Partnership (Jeff Ramsey, President), The Bank Building, 6501-11 Detroit Avenue
The Friendship Foundation of American Vietnamese (Gia Hoa Ryan, President), Sai Gon Plaza at 5400 Detroit Avenue.
In Ohio City Near West’s service area, completed projects included:
TEG Properties (Tom Gillespie, President), Lang Building, 1844 W. 25th
John and Joy Sweeney, Sweeney Building,t 1900 Fulton Avenue
OCDS Limited Partnership (Jeff Ramsey, President & Joe Mazzola, Secretary), Miller Building, 3200-14 Lorain Avenue
Mike Kanieski, MGK Properties, Ltd, Fridrich Building, 4207-11 Lorain.
In the area served by Tremont West Development Corporation, two buildings received storefront renovations under the program:
Tom Leneghan of Sandy Banks, LLC, Civilization, 2366 W. 11th Street
Christopher J. Lieb of Charles Christopher Real Estate, LLC, The Starkweather at 2572 Starkweather.
