City Planning Commission supports expansion of Stockyard Company

(Plain Press, November 2005) At its October 7th meeting, the City of Cleveland Planning Commission gave its stamp of approval to a zoning variance to allow Darrah Electric Company at 5914 Merrill Avenue to expand. The expansion plans call for the vacating of an alley, Allen Court, and changing the zoning of several parcels on Merrill Avenue. Ward 17 Councilman Matt Zone and the Stockyard Redevelopment Organization support the expansion.

Zone said the company, which makes electrical transformers and electrical exciters, is in an expansion mode and has just acquired a company from Pennsylvania and will be adding employees and new product to the business.
