School Board appoints 1st Hispanic
to Cleveland Public Library Board of Trustees

(Plain Press, August 2005) The Board of Education of the Cleveland Municipal School District appointed Ms. Maritza Rodriguez to the Board of Trustees of the Cleveland Public Library. Rodriquez is described in the Board resolution as a Cleveland resident and involved parent who is employed by Cuyahoga County as a child support enforcement officer.

Rodriguez will replace Kevin J. Kelley on the Library Board of Trustees. Kelley was recently appointed to the position of Ward 16 Cleveland City Councilperson.

According to Cleveland Public Library Director Andrew A. Venable, Rodriquez is the first Hispanic to serve on the Cleveland Public Library Board of Trustees.
