Neighborhood Tour

This neighborhood became part of Cleveland when portions of East Cleveland Village and East Cleveland Township were annexed to the City in 1872 and 1892. Today more than 50 organizations are crowded into one square mile, including Case Western Reserve, Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Cleveland Museum of Art and Severance Hall. University also contains Little Italy, a well known and compact neighborhood located on Mayfield road, which Italian immigrants were drawn to in the late 1800s for employment opportunities.
