Welcome to Lee-Miles

Originally a part of Warrensville Township, between 1927 and 1932 Lee-Miles was the Village of Miles and was known for electing Ohio's first African-American mayor, Arthur R. Johnston in 1929. As a neighborhood, Lee-Miles developed late (compared to other Cleveland neighborhoods) and in the 1940ís and 1950ís experienced a period of development which lead to housing and shopping areas that are considered to be among the most contemporary in Cleveland. Currently young families are moving to this neighborhood. A potential attraction is the convenience and access to nearby commercial establishments within such a close distance to neighborhood residential housing.
