Welcome to Kamm's Corners
Kamm's Corners was named for Oswald Kamm, a local grocer. The area was first developed in the 1870s with a small cluster of houses and a few shops. The neighborhood's population steadily increased until the 1970s due in part to the establishment of an 'interurban' railway system along Lorain avenue and the extension of Cleveland Electric Railway Company's streetcar line in 1923. Today, with a population of 19,487 (according to the 2000 Census) Kamm's Corners is known as on of Cleveland's largest neighborhoods. New restaurants, an emerging nightlife and the continued growth of Fairview Hospital indicate that this vibrant neighborhood continues to thrive.
