New Housing Construction and Rehabilitation

A Guide to New Housing Construction in Cleveland's Neighborhoods

A priority of the administration of Michael R. White has been to make new housing construction a viable choice for prospective home buyers. This vision is being successfully implemented by the City of Cleveland and its partners: developers, builders, neighborhood organizations, lending institutions, and other key players. Just since 1990, over 2000 homes have been developed.

Low cost land, tax abatement, affordable uitilities and low cost financing loans are other ways in which the city has encouraged new housings construction.

Information and technical assistance can be obtained from the Housing Construction Office in the Department of Community Development. Developers as well as individuals planning to build their own homes are welcome to call 664-2869 for more details.

For information on home buyer incentive programs, see NeighborhoodLink's Homebuyers Information.
