Many people interested in buying a home are not prepared for the potential budget, utility, insurance, and mortgage related responsibilities that are part of home ownership. LHC's trained Housing Counselors, all HUD-certified and members of the Federation of Housing Counselors, advise residents, helping them budget their resources to meet mortgage payments and other household expenses.
One critical priority of LHC counselors is aiding families faced with foreclosure. With an established relationship with 80 area lenders, counselors negotiate with mortgage holders and other creditors on behalf of residents.
