Cuyahoga Urban County Communities, City of Cleveland, City of East Cleveland, City of Shaker Heights
Housing Advocates, Inc. (HAI) currently receives funding from the City of Cleveland for its Home Ownership Assistance Program (HOAP), a project that provides assistance to City residents who are victims of predatory lending. HOAP also has an education and outreach initiative through which staff members present at block clubs and neighborhood meetings, publish articles in community newspapers, and produce and circulate brochures throughout the City. Also, HAI currently receives funding from the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development to provide educational brochures, public service announcements, and workshops throughout Cuyahoga County on the issues and dangers of illegal lending practices.
