Dunham Tavern Museum, 6709 Euclid Ave. (call 231-5010). This former stagecoach stop is now a museum preserving the tavern and surrounding gardens. It serves as a reminder of the Western Reserve. Visit their website at: http://www.dunhamtavern.org.
There are also two Cleveland Public Libraries in Hough--the Hough Branch, located at 1566 Crawford Rd. (call 623-6997), and the Langston Hughes Branch, located at Superior Ave. and 105th St. (call 623-9975). Visit the library website at: http://www.cpl.org.
Hough's neighbors in University Circle include some of the world's finest museums, including the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Western Reserve Historical Society, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Health Museum of Cleveland.
Cleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Blvd. (call 421-7340). The art museum has a world-famous collection representing all cultures and periods. Admission is free to the permanent collection.
Cleveland Museum of Natural History, 1 Wade Oval Dr. (call 231-4600). The natural history museum has an exhibit of dinosaurs, a collection of precious stones, models of Indian villages, and a variety of other exhibits fostering an understanding of the natural world.
Western Reserve Historical Society, 10825 East Blvd. (call 721-5722). The society is one of the city's oldest cultural institutions and includes a geneological library that is nationally- recognized.
