Located on Detroit Avenue in the commercial district, the Cleveland Public Theatre is the center of a plan for a redeveloped arts and entertainment district in the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood. In a 1998 Detroit-Shoreway Community Development Organization conceptual plan for the Detroit Avenue and West 65th Street intersection examined the development of the Gordon Square Arts and Entertainment District along Detroit between West 61st and West 69th streets.
